· Ship spec section 528 - traps must run fore & aft. Bestweld "Concentric Drain Traps" are "directionally insensitive" (They can be installed anywhere).

· Original design is a top inlet (for use on down comers). A side inlet version is currently in the design stage.

· Bestweld "Concentric Drain traps" have been successfully tested for roll-over in seaway.

· Traps can be primed with fans running.

· Installations:

4 installed on DDG70 - USS Hopper

35 installed on DDG59 - USS Russel (retrofit)
