Everyone in our community knows that the CAAA provides the highest quality pre-hospital care by utilizing state of the art equipment, advanced technology, and highly trained Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. It is also well known that the CAAA does that for all of our patients regardless of their ability to pay for those services. What is not commonly known however, is that the CAAA accomplishes all this without dedicated tax from Federal, State, or Local government.
As each of us has seen in our personal finances, insurance companies do not typically pay what we hope they would. The same trend occurs with how insurance companies process a CAAA billing. In fact, nearly half the charges CAAA bills to your insurance company are never reimbursed. The CAAA simply has to "write off" the cost of those services. The question then is how do we remain open? And how do we serve your homes when emergencies calls that cost us as much as $1,200, or more, for a single response? The shortfall is made up for by your contributions. So, if you have contributed to our Annual Subscription Drive in the past, please do so again, and if you haven't contributed to our Drive before please start right now. With escalating costs it becomes more and more difficult for the CAAA to continue to be there to provide you our life-saving services.
To cover our yearly expenses of nearly $1.3 million the CAAA heavily relies each year on the annual subscription drive to meet our operating budget. That is how we are able to respond to approximately 3,000 medical emergencies each year in the Ambler Borough and the Townships of Lower Gwynedd and Upper Dublin.
Our CAAA 2008 Annual Subscription Drive has already begun. If you have not already received our Subscription Request in the mail, it should come soon. Once our Request arrives, please respond. Be sure to include yourself as well as your family as subscribers and supporters of the CAAA. You subscription will help ensure that our Emergency Services will be there when you need them most.
